As an entrepreneur, author, and transformational speaker, Ben has made it his mission to elevate the lives of Black men and boys through purpose-driven leadership, faith, and community action. For over four decades, he’s proudly served as the steward of Ben’s Chili Bowl, a Washington, D.C. institution his family built with love, resilience, and a deep commitment to the community. But beyond the restaurant walls, his mission has always been rooted in something greater: helping the next generation rise.

As Founder of the Ben’s Chili Bowl Foundation, he’s supported programs that have empowered thousands, from youth mentorship to frontline community support, including over 10,000 meals served during the COVID-19 pandemic. Ben’s involvement spans respected institutions, including the Lincoln Theatre Foundation, Barker Foundation, Georgetown Day School, and 100 Fathers, where he advocates for education, arts, fatherhood, and personal development.

Now, as Ben releases his new book, ASCEND: The Black Man’s Guide to Elevation, Success, and Purpose, he’s stepping fully into his calling to inspire healing, growth, and purpose in Black men across the country. This book is more than a motivational read, it’s a call for those ready to release generational burdens and rise into leadership with power, peace, and purpose.
